The seond training workshop in Rome
The workshop has been the second AFE Activists training session organized with Rome Municipality II.
It has specifically dealt with elderly people’s rights, too often non respected and on some of the available tools to safeguard them. The following study cases have been addressed by the guest-speakers: the situation in the Municipality II with regard to public care, both at home and within Elderly Centres, services; the so-called unexpressed rights, i.e. those which are not requested because they are unknown to THE elderly entitled to them, in connection to pensions’ rights and benefits related to pensions; usury and how to defend from it which, unfortunately, in Rome sees more and more older persons victims of it; the right to the safeguard of one’s own properties.
Very detailed information has been supplied, including printed materials, to participants about contact points in Municipality II where it is possible to receive support to have rights respected and opportunities offered for the direct involvement in on-going local success cases within local initiatives. New meetings in Municipality II, to deeper deal with the areas which have arisen more interest – notably the fields of care; support on pensions’ and property rights; the defense against usury – – have been agreed and they will be organized by the Municipality social affairs department in the coming months.
Also the second training has witnessed very lively exchanges between participants and guest-speakers and among the participants themselves, with follow-up plans agreed upon outside the formal training session.

Il secondo seminario formativo a Roma
Il seminario è stato il secondo momento formativo di AFE Activists organizzati con il Municipio II di Roma Capitale.
L’incontro si è concentrato sui diritti, troppo spesso non rispettati, degli anziani e sugli strumenti disponibili per facilitarne la tutela. Sono stati trattati i seguenti casi studio: la situazione nel Municipio II, con particolare riferimento all’assistenza; i diritti cosiddetti inespressi, perchè non conosciuti, e, perciò, neanche richiesti per le prestazioni pensionistiche e i benefici collegati; la difesa dalla distorsione dell’usura, le cui vittime sono sempre più spesso anziani; la protezione dei dati personali; il diritto e la tutela del proprio patrimonio.
Sono state fornite informazioni dettagliate sui punti di contatto nel Municipio II, materiali scritti e presentate opportunità di coinvolgimento per i partecipanti in iniziative in corso a livello locale. E’ stato concordato di avviare nuovi incontri nel Municipio a sostegno dei diritti all’assistenza, sia domiciliare che non e di consulenza per far sì che i diritti inespressi possano diventare goduti e tutelati.
Anche in questo secondo seminario loscambio fra partecipanti e relatori ospiti è stato molto partecipato, con nuovi appuntamenti concordati a margine della sessione formale.
